Belwood & Roe – A Colourful Holiday Season

Here we are mid way through the holidays; we’ve had some fantastic weather here in the UK which I hope you’ve managed to enjoy?!

Lets Talk About Paints

Why did we choose the paints we did? So when you start anything different or new, what do you do? Well I do my research, I had a look at all the available paints in the furniture industry, the key points that I looked at were environmental impact, types of finish, availability of colour choices and suitability.

The paint that came out top for me was the new types of water based paint, these are just as hard wearing as any of the others available but with many advantages and especially more environmentally friendly, which is a key point for our business.

The water based paints stay more flexible, maintain their colour and sheen levels longer and come in an array of colour choices, what’s not to like? Then I had to think about the colour pallets, which is where Farrow & Ball comes in; They have gained a fantastic reputation for lovely looking colours and a great following, so was a natural choice for us, but of course we aren’t limited to these and if you think you’d like something different we also offer a full bespoke colour service.

So how to you choose that perfect colour for your unit and the space around it? Well guess what I did some research, the colours you find on our website are some of the most popular choices, one of my favourites is Sulking Room Pink, with Brinjal coming a close second.  How do you make your choice, well that’s all down to you and that feeling you get when you imagine those different looks, we have just tried to help with our selection.

When I make my colour choices, I take a look at the space that my furniture will sit in, close my eyes and imagine putting in all the items I have to fill that space with, then I imagine all the different colour combinations and run with what I get the best feeling for……… and also listen to my wife!

I hope you can find your perfect finish for your space and enjoy what’s left of the summer!
